Ubuntu 16.10 Yakkety Yak Released, Available for VirtualBox and VMware

Ubuntu team announced the latest version of their operating system “Ubuntu 16.10 Yakkety Yak”. The new Ubuntu non-LTS release features version 4.8.x of the Linux kernel, updated packages of Firefox, LibreOffice, Update to Gnome stack and many other packages along with several bug fixes. “Ubuntu 16.10 released with Hybrid Cloud Operations and Unity 8 developer preview, from Canonical. Developer preview of Unity 8 includes desktop, tablet and phone UX convergence. Ubuntu 16.10 is based on the Linux release series 4.8. LibreOffice 5.2 has been updated to 5.2. Ubuntu now uses the GTK3 version by default. Update Manager now shows changelog entries for PPAs too. Apps provided by GNOME have been updated to at least 3.20. Many apps have been updated to 3.22 also. The Nautilus file browser has been updated to 3.20. systemd is now used for user sessions. System sessions had already been provided by systemd in previous Ubuntu releases.” You can check release announcement on their insights.
