antiX Linux team announced the latest of their operating system “antiX 16.2” based on Debian 8.8 stable (Jessie): “antiX 16.2 (Berta Cáceres) point release is available. Bug-fix version including all updates from Debian ‘Jessie’ and security-patched kernels. Existing users of antiX 16 or antiX 16.1 do not need to download and install. Simply update via the repositories. Debian 8.8 ‘Jessie’, but systemd-free. And it fits on a CD. Great live USB features. As usual antiX comes in three flavours for both 32-bit and 64-bit processors. New net edition – antiX-core-net (140 MB), no X. Just enough to get you connected (wired) and ready to build. No localisation set, no GRUB. Uses antiX kernel, customised 4.4.10 LTS kernel with fbcondecor splash. antiX has been designed to be fast, light on resources and flexible.
